| Description: | We are looking for an experienced Clinical Engineer, specialising in Electronic Assistive Technology, to join our Service in a newly created role. In this role you will take a lead on Clinical Engineering issues within a supportive, multidisciplinary team. The East Kent Communication and Assistive Technology Service is an exciting and relatively new specialist Service established in collaboration with Kent County Council. The Service assesses and supports disabled children and young people who need to use Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT) or Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC). We have strong relationships with local Rehabilitation Engineering, Wheelchair, Environmental Control and Paediatric Therapy Services. We value and use these links to benefit our own staff, as well as the children and families we serve. As the result of new investment, we are expanding to cover a wider geographic area, whilst also developing the breadth of assistive technology services that we offer. As the successful applicant you will be an experienced Clinical Engineer who is passionate about meeting the needs of children and families through the appropriate use of assistive technology. You will have an MSc in a relevant discipline and have evidence of maintaining and developing your skills through continuing professional development. For appointment at Band 8A you will hold state registration as a Clinical Scientist and will have at least 2 years, post registration experience of working with people who use AAC and EAT. The post will be based at The Old Railway School in Ashford, but will involve working across Kent. You will be a key link between the CAT Service and other local and regional Assistive Technology Services and will need to develop strong professional relationships focussed on optimising outcomes for children. This job provides excellent opportunities for ongoing professional development working in a highly supportive and friendly team |
